1:35 West European Cart
Catalogue # MB3562
Available from Master Box LTD and other good hobby retailers for about Euro 6.50 in Germany, (about GBP 5.20 in Britain)
Now, this here is not the typical tank kit, but in my opinion a very nice addition to your next diorama: the "West European Cart" from our good friends from Master Box!
Inside the end-opening box card board box 250 x 175 x 35 millimetres in size there is a single resealable clear plastic bag containing one sprue holding 32 parts in tan coloured plastic.
Moulding of the parts is crisp and without flaws, with only the tiniest amount of flash on a few parts. There is some mould mismatch and more flash on the sprue itself holding the parts, but hey: we don´t build the sprue, don´t we?
There are no ejector pin marks anywhere on the parts for Master Box placed those close to the parts on the sprues, not on them! I like that; especially for it would have damaged the maybe finest wood grain depiction I have ever seen on plastic parts!
The wood grain depiction on the parts in the kit is this superfine I first could not even see it! I gave the surface a thin wash and wiped away the excess. Please have a look at the pictures to see the surface detail. Maybe this detail will be gone as soon as there will be paint applied to it?!?
I also like the definition of the wheels in this kit, with the steel rim on each wheel separated from the wheel itself by a fine recessed line. It will be easy to cut some masking tape along this line to give the steel rim its colour.
No assembly instructions are given in this kit. Instead we have two pictures of an assembled kit on the back side of the box. There also is a picture of the single sprue of this kit with the part´s numbers shown next to them. The respective part numbers are indicated on the two pictures of the assembled kit to show the placement of the individual parts.
So what do we think?
A simple kit with the finest wood grain depiction I have seen so far. The small number of parts and the quality of moulding will get the modeller to the next step soon: painting this cart!
Master Box has done a good job on this model kit of a cart. This is a simple and easy to assemble kit being useful in so many ways on a diorama.
