BarracudaCals upcoming releases....
The Guys from BarracudaCals have just joined the crew here at S.P.A.R – and Roy has sent us some "Gen" on some upcoming decals of the Spitfire Mk VIII in 32nd and 48th scales – they look great !
Roy has many more projects coming up and is going into casting resin parts and books – so keep an eye out for his stuff – I own some of his P-47 sheets and they are fantastic – so we are really happy to have them on board with us. – I will shut up now and let Roy tell you about his releases….
Decals...

BarracudaCals is proud to announce 2 new decal sheets. The subjects are :
· BC48008 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk.VIII Part I
· BC32008 1/32 scale Spitfire Mk.VIII Part I
The 32nd scale sheet is, of course, timed to coincide with the release of the gorgeous new Spitfire Mk VIII kit from Tamiya. This sheet is packed with 5 unique and different subjects. Some have been seen before on decal sheets, but have never been depicted correctly, where as the others are new and have never been done in decal form before. One US option, one Australian option, and 3 RAF options round out the sheet. This image is not the final artwork, and two small corrections have been made. They will be corrected and accurate on the final product.
The 1/48th sheet is similar, although there is a sixth option added in, and will work with just about any Spit IX kit available in the scale.
The decals are at the printer as we speak, and they will be debuted at the IPMS National convention in Phoenix in less than a month. along with all the new 1/32 resin Spitfire detail sets from BarracudaCast, you will be able to really make your Spitfire stand out from the crowd. More Spitfire sets are in the works as well.

I mentioned in the original press release that there will be a bonus 6th scheme on the 1/48th scale sheet. The above image is the profile for this bonus scheme. While at first blush, a rather plain aircraft, it was flown by the beloved Kiwi pilot F/O Vic Bargh of 67 Squadron. It also has the great fortune to have my initials as its codes, thereby assuring itself a place on this sheet! Its good to be King...
So, the sheet will be delayed a little, but will be a better and more accurate sheet. A perfect sheet? Doubtful. But it is as accurate as it can be given the many hours of research that has gone into it.
Pre-orders are not being accepted yet, but will begin when I get a hard delivery date for the new sets. Watch the BarracudaCals website for announcements and details.
I am really excited about these new sheets, as the schemes are varied and exciting. I hope you are, too!

Shipping on all products will begin on Tuesday. There is a bit of a backlog due to some delays in packaging and decals, but I hope to have everyone's order shipped by the end of the week.
Starting up a whole new product line is a big job, and there are often a number of logistical issues to be resolved, and this time was not much different. That's about all for tonight, but I have a whole number of new projects and products all coming together over the next few weeks and months, so you can count on a good number of blog entries , especially leading up to the IPMS/USA nationals in Phoenix next month.
Happy modelling! Roy
