Pack-Shot-500

Two large wooden barrels, two small wooden barrels, two milk chums, two wooden washing tubs, two wooden crates, two wooden cases, and 36 bottles of different sizes! This is the content of this new set from MiniArt´s “Buildings & Accessories Series”. A lot of stuff to additionally detail one of their renowned building kits, a tank model, or whatever you can imagine creating a diorama!

Parts-01-500
Two pieces of this sprue are given in this set.

MiniArt separates themselves from most other manufacturers by the high-gloss finish of the boxes they sell their kits in. In my opinion this gives the respective kit a high-quality appearance.

The pleasing box art shows you what you get in this box and aids as a painting guide. Inside this end-opening box 290x190x45 mm in size we have one pair of grey plastic sprues in a clear bag, the 92 parts are well moulded and show some traces of flash.

The instructions can be found on the back side of the card board box. In clear and well-arranged drawings show the not really complicated steps to assemble this set.

Instructions-500

As mentioned before most of the parts show little traces of flash. But I gladly accept having to remove this for on the other hand most parts show some of the finest wood grain structure moulded in! As mentioned in my review on MiniArt´s European Cart (to be found here on SP&R) I am absolutely sold on this! Even the recessed inner walls of the barrels show this wood grain effect, a nice move from MiniArt!

Have a closer look at the box art: these are the kit´s contents build and masterly painted!

I only wished the grab handles of the milk chums would have been provided as much thinner photo etched parts, for the plastic parts provided look a little bit beefy in my eyes. But these grab handles are easy to do yourself from thin sheet metal (from a tea light candle) so this is no real complaint here.

The bottles would have looked more realistic if made from clear or coloured plastic. But this would have necessitated moulding them on sprues of their own (in their own costly moulds!) just for this, raising the price of sale to an unbearable level for such an accessory set. Again, looking at the box art, it is possible to paint the bottles a realistic way to look like coloured glass.

So what do we think?
A nice little accessory set with a bandwidth of possible use. Next time take this K98 carbine out of your walking Wehrmacht soldier’s hands and replace it with a crate and 8 bottles. Change the figure´s head to one with a smile on it et viola: a diorama of its own!

Highly Recommended!

Being a little set of useful accessories it will show its value when adding these parts to a model kit, a group of figures or / and a diorama scene. I´ll surely do so in my next project!
