The 1:32 Trumpeter Su-25 Frogfoot is a kit I've been after since its release, but the closest I've been is to seeing the one my friend has. I'm still trying to get him to trade with me. In the meanwhile though, I have this brand new set from Aires' Quickboost range which is a direct replacement for the kits control surfaces. By this, we mean the ailerons.
Packaged into a flexible wallet, each ailerons is cast onto a separate block in an off-grey coloured resin. The parts are connected by a thin web which runs the entire length of the inboard edge of the part. When cleaned up, no visible trace should be seen when assembled to the model. The finish in these is riveted, to match the overall Trumpeter rendering of the Frogfoot airframe.
Casting is clean and flawless, and the shape of the part looks to be an improvement over the regular kit part. No surgery is required to fit these direct kit replacements.
So what do we think?
An excellent upgrade at a more than reasonable price. If you can afford the kit, there is no excuse to skimp and not add these.
