Okay, so your plastic bandage is now set and is hard ? We can continue adding the base layer of colour to the landscape then.
Again, others will use different methods to achieve their results, using paint, or scatter material.
However this is how I do it on My Lenz O Gauge Layout Alter Lokschuppen
http://busybeas-alterlokschuppen.blogspot.com/
I use grass matt,in these large scales you can get away with the 'hairy grass' as a base texture.
Mix a 50 /50 solution of Pva and water in a bowl, and liberally coat the area you are going to work on, this will allow the mat to adhere to the mod roc / bandage.Next cut some grass mat roughly to size for fitting to a section of your terrain.

I prefer to "paste" the grass matt in my chosen receptacle
Actually its an old roasting dish !
Liberally coat the rear of the grass mat and let it really get soaked.

You then simply smooth it into place on the terrain with your hand.. ( you are still wearing hand 'protection ?)

Once it's in situ, use a sharp blade (in my case a Swann Morton Retractaway Scalpel) and trim off most of the excess as required.
You really must use a sharp blade, otherwise the soggy mat WILL tear.

Continue laying your grass matt on the landscape, simply butting up to the next piece as you go.
If, due to the contours you end up with an unavoidable overlap, simply ensure the over lap is away from the viweing side.
(Most layouts are visible from one side and this will fool the eye into not seeing the join /overlap)

You should now end of with some green scenery .. again don't be worried if this isn't perfect, there's still a long way to go yet !
